Karen
Most of you will recognize Karen’s smiling face as she has been with Loyalist Veterinary Hospital since opening in 1995. Karen graduated as a Registered Veterinary Technologist from St. Lawrence College in Kingston and now provides nursing care for all our patients.
Karen has had a life long love of animals, growing up on a farm and currently has an energetic cat named Sophie, and a lazy and lovable Golden Retriever named Daisy

Leigh
Leigh graduated from the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus in 2000 as a registered veterinary technician. She joined our team in 2001 and has proven to be an asset to the nursing care of our patients. Leigh has focused her continuing education in the rehabilitation of pets with soft tissue and skeletal injuries and the various nutritional needs of our patients.
Leigh's compassion for pets extends outside of her job when she returns home to her many four-legged friends. She also enjoys gardening, singing and playing her guitar.

Nicole
Nicole graduated from St. Lawrence college in 2000 as a Veterinary Technician. She continued her education at the University of Guelph, graduating with a Biology Degree in 2003. She is busy here, currently performing both Technician and Reception roles in the clinic.
Nicole lives on a farm in Prince Edward County with her husband, dogs, horses, cats, goats, rabbits and ducks.

Amy
Amy started as a co-op student at our practice in both the summer of 2007 and 2008. Amy graduated from the Veterinary Technician program in 2008. She is now kept busy as our third full time technician.
Amy began her work with animals in 2001 while working at a wildlife rehabilitation centre. She has also spent time working at a domestic animal shelter in Barrie, and spent a summer in British Columbia rehabilitating seals.
Amy currently shares her home with three adorable cats.

Sara
Sara joined our team in 2005 as a highschool co-op student. For the next few years she worked as part of our support staff, caring for boarding animals, working the reception desk, and assisting the veterinarians.
In 2007 Sara entered the veterinary technician program at St. Lawrence college and has graduated this spring. After completing a work placement at a small animal clinic in Kingston, and another caring for research animals, Sara returned here as our fifth veterinary technician.
At home Sara spends time with her cat Onya and her puppy Roxie.

Receptionists

Kathryn
Kathryn has proven herself to be a valuable member of our team. She has been a full time receptionist at our hospital since 2002. Her warm and welcoming personality is the key to her excellent customer relations.
Kathryn is kept busy at home with her family and her black lab “Drake”, who is trained for duck retrieval.

Daycare
|
Tammy
Tammy joined Loyalist Veterinary Hospital in February 2002. She was previously employed at the Quinte Humane Society for 12 years which gave her valuable experience with the handling of a variety of animals.
At Loyalist Veterinary Hospital, Tammy runs the daycare program where you can find her wrestling and playing with dogs in our gymnasium. Tammy enjoys outdoor activities and her dog "Chelsea".

Animal Care Attendants

Kathy
Kathy previously devoted her time to the Quinte Humane Society before joining our team in October 2006. She works primarily with our boarding pets, making sure that they have a clean, comfortable and enjoyable stay while they are with us.
During her spare time, Kathy enjoys doing plastic canvas when not playing with her two dogs - Buddy and Emily, and three cats - Cuddles, Garfield and Johnny.

Bill
Bill previously worked at the local SPCA and has been a part of our team since 2003. The compassion he acquired while caring for homeless animals proves invaluable while caring for our patients and boarding pets. Bill is a team player and aids in all areas of the hospital!
Bill and his wife continue to support the SPCA, opening their home as foster parents to pets awaiting new homes.

Lindsay
Lindsay joined our team in 2006 as a co-op student, and permanently joined the team that summer. She has become skilled working in all areas of the clinic, from vet assistance to reception, to caring for our boarding pets.
She continues caring for animals at home, where she has a dog Biscuit, and two cats, Lexi and Massie.
